How to Create Your Federal Student Loan Account
Before you can login to your Federal student loan account, you have to create an account first. To create this account, you have to create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). However, creating this FSA ID account will require you to provide your personal information on the registration page. To create this account, kindly follow the steps below;
- Start by going to www.studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch in the web browser of your device.
- The next step is to scroll down and tap the “Get Started” button.
- On the next page, the FSA ID account creation page will pop-up.
- Now, type in your first name, middle initial, last name, date of birth and social security number.
- Then, click on “Continue”.
- The next step is to create a Username, email address, confirm your email address, create a password and confirm password. Keep in mind that you use a non-school based email address so that you can use the account after school for other purposes.
- Then, click on “Continue”.
- Next, type in your permanent address, city, state, zip code, and phone number.
- Check the box below to indicate if you want to use your mobile phone for account recovery.
- Then, tap the “Continue” button.
- The next step is to choose your Required Communication preferences from either “By email Recommended” or “By Postal mail”.
- Then, choose your preferred language.

- The next page will appear where you will be asked to choose four (4) challenge questions and provide answers to them. Make sure you know these questions and answer for future purposes.
