Fedloan servicing is a student loan servicer that helps student and those working in nonprofit or government agency to manage the repayment of their federal and private student loans. The loan service company is created and operated by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), a non-profit organization that offers financial aid services and also administers various state grants programs. PHEAA also serves as a loan servicer for Federal Family Education Loan programs (FFELP) which is operated by America Education service.
Fedloan servicing is one of the nine loan servicing companies in agreement with the U.S. Department of Education to handle loan services on its behalf. Some of the loan service duties include tracking payment, customer service, repayment and other administrative parts of a loan. Currently, Fedloan is the only loan servicer that manages Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) applications, an application which process your employment certification forms and also provides your student loan forgiveness. Once your Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) application is processed, your loan automatically will be sent to FedLoan. Keep in mind that you are likely to make certain payments to become eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) application before your loans are transferred but you will have to send your employment certification forms to FedLoan via mail. Once Fedloan becomes your loan servicer, you can now submit your PSLF online.
