What is SEO Law or how can I apply for SEO Law Programs? Well, these are several questions we get from people. This is because a lot of people have mistaken the meaning of SEO Law programs for SEO for Lawyers. On the contrary, the SEO for Lawyers is also known as the Attorney Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which involves strategies, techniques, and tactics that help an Attorney or a lawyer attract more prospective clients to his law firm’s website by obtaining first page ranking positions in search engines when it comes to building a law blog. On the other hand, SEO Law is an internship program offered to Black, Hispanic, and Native American incoming law school students who want to practice law as a career.
This program provides supports to promising underrepresented incoming law students who wants to attend law school of their choice and help them survive throughout a whole leap year. With this SEO law program, a Fellow is entitled to an SEO law salary of up to $1,625 per week with an experiential learning that comes with a hands-on look at the practice of law (Practice and Prep). You also get the opportunity to receive a paid internship at a top law firm the summer before law school. The program also offers three scholarships per year to outstanding students which include one $10,000 scholarship and two $5,000 scholarships.
As a fellow who is beneficiary of the SEO Law Fellowship programs, you get opportunity to enjoy support from the SEO leadership Institute and networks of more than 1,700+ SEO Law alumni, who have gone on to work as Chief Legal Officers, U.S. District Attorneys, Deputy/Assistant Attorneys General, U.S. District Court Judges, and U.S. Cabinet/Congress Members. SEO Law partners with more than 45 law firms in 13 cities across the U.S.
How to Apply to SEO Law Programs
The SEO law offers two programs to prospective students. This includes the SEO Law Fellowship and Catalyst by SEO law. These programs have their requirements and for you to be eligible for these programs, you have to meet the requirements and then apply.
SEO Law Fellowship
This is an annual program but please be informed that the SEO law Fellowship 2021 program is now closed. To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:
ELIGIBLITY
- Minimum Undergraduate GPA: 3.0
- Graduated (or will graduate in May 2021) from a four-year U.S. college or university
- Applying to law school for matriculation in fall 2021
- Must take the LSAT or GRE prior to March 7, 2021
- Deadline for Scholarship Application: March 7, 2021

Catalyst by SEO Law
This is an annual program but please be informed that the SEO law Fellowship 2021 program is now closed. To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:
ELIGIBLITY
- Minimum Undergraduate GPA: 3.0
- Graduated, or will graduate from a four-year U.S. college or university by May 2022, with the exception of Junior Deferral Candidates who must be on track to graduate by May 2023
Although not a requirement, preference will be given to applicants who intend to take the June or July 2021 LSAT and are committed to applying to law school by November 2021 (for intended matriculation in Fall 2022)

Note: Applicants who are selected to move to the second round will be required to submit an LSAT Diagnostic score (using instructions provided by Manhattan Prep) and complete three (3) video interview questions
Timeline
2021 Law Fellowship Application Timeline:
- January 13, 2021 to February 3, 2021 (by 11:59 pm ET): Applications accepted online
- Early February 2021: Select applicants notified for the second round of the application process (LSAT Diagnostic & video interview)
- Deadline for submission of second round materials: Seven (7) days after notification
- Week of February 16, 2021: Catalyst admissions decisions made
- March 3, 2021: Program start date and kickoff
- November 2021: Catalyst Scholars must submit law school applications by this month
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to have been admitted to law school in order to apply to the SEO Law Fellowship?
No, but you should be applying to law schools at the same time you apply to the Fellowship. This is because Fellows need to provide proof of enrollment prior to acceptance into the Fellowship.
- I don’t plan to enroll in law school by next fall. Can I still participate in the SEO Law Fellowship program?
Only candidates who are starting law school in the fall immediately after their Fellowship summer are eligible for internships with our law partners.
- How do I submit my law school admission documents?
You only need to submit your law school enrollment form once you have selected your school (proof of your seat deposit). Please select “Law School Information” from the menu after logging into the online application and upload it there.
- When should I expect to interview with the SEO Law Fellowship team?
Interviews will occur in March and April. SEO Law will contact you if you’re selected for an interview to schedule a mutually convenient time to interview via Zoom. Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, this is subject to change.
