How to Create Your Student Loan Account

To create your student loan account is simply creating your Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). When you create this FSA ID, you can now access your Student loan account  with the either the FSA ID Username or email address or phone number and password you create on Student loan account registration page.

However, to create your Student loan account, you will need your Social Security Number, mobile phone number and email address. Before we consider how to login into your student loan portal, let quickly dive into how to create your Student loan account. Below are the required steps to creating your loan account either as a student, parent or borrower. 

  • Go to https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch in the web browser of your device.
  • Next, scroll down and click on the blue “Get Started” button.
  • On the next page, the FSA ID account creation page will appear.
  • Enter your first name, middle initial, last name, date of birth and social security number.
  • Then, tap “Continue”.
  • Next, create a Username, email address, confirm your email address, create a password and confirm password. Make sure you use a non-school based email address so that you can use the account after school for other purposes.  
  • Then, tap the “Continue” button.
  • On the next page, enter permanent address, city, state, zip code, and phone number.
  • Check the box below to indicate if you want to use your mobile phone for account recovery.
  • Then, tap the “Continue” button.
  • The next step is to choose your Required Communication preferences from either “By email Recommended” or “By Postal mail”.
  • Then, choose your preferred language.
  • Now, tap the “Continue” button.
  • On the next page, you will be asked to select four (4) challenge questions and provide answers to them. Kindly know these questions and answer for future purposes.
  • Next, confirm and verify your information for any correction.
  • Scroll down and agree to the Federal Student Aid’s terms and conditions by checking the box.
  • Then, tap the “Continue” button.
  • Then, verify your mobile phone number and email address via the 6-digit verification code sent to your phone number and email address.
  • Finally, click on “Finish”.

Congrats, you have created your Student Loan account. Now you have your FSA ID which can use to login to your account. To login to your Student Loan account or dashboard, simply follow the steps below.

To login to your Student loan account, simply follow the steps below. You can login as a parent and student with your student or parent’s FSA ID Username, Email Address, or Mobile Number and password. Simply, follow the steps below to use the studentaid.gov login platform.

  • Go to https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-in/landing in the web browser of your device.
  • Next, enter your our FSA ID Username, Email Address, or Mobile Number
  • Enter your password.
  • Now, click on “Log In”.

Now, you have successfully logged in to your Student loan account.
