As a student, to login to your FASFA form or account, you have to create your FSA ID account. This gives you automatic access to your FAFSA account. Parents must also create must also create their FSA ID account separately to login to their children’s FAFSA form. How to create your FSA ID Account
- Visit https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch in the web browser of your device.
- On the next page, scroll down and click on the “Get Started” button.
- Next, the FSA ID account creation page will appear.
- Type in your first name, middle initial, last name, date of birth and social security number.
- Then, click on “Continue”.
- Next, create a Username, email address, confirm your email address, create a password and confirm password. Kindly use a non-school based email address so that you can use the account after school for other purposes.
- Then, click on “Continue”.
- On the next page, enter permanent address, city, state, zip code, and phone number.
- Check the box below to indicate if you want to use your mobile phone for account recovery.
- Click on “Continue”.
- The next step is to choose your Required Communication preferences from either “By email Recommended” or “By Postal mail”.
- Then, select your preferred language.
- Now, click on “Continue”.
- On the next page, you will be asked to select four (4) challenge questions and provide answers to them. Kindly know these questions and answer for future purposes.

You can now login as a parent and student with your student or parent’s FSA ID Username, Email Address, or Mobile Number and password. Simply, follow the steps below to use the studentaid.gov login platform.
- Go to www.studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-in/landing in the web browser of your device.
- Next, enter your our student or parent’s FSA ID Username, Email Address, or Mobile Number and password.
- Now, click on “Log In”.
- Now, you have now logged in to your FAFSA form.
How to Login to your FASFA form without FSA ID
To Login to your FAFSA form as a Student from a freely Associated State
- Go to www.studentaid.gov/fafsa-app/ROLES in the web browser of your device.
- On the next page, three layers will appear; click on “I am a student and want to access the FAFSA form”.
- On this page, you can either access the FAFSA form by clicking on “use personal identifiers” or scroll down to click on “I am from a freely associated state” – this is for Marshall islands, federated states of Micronesia, and Palau.
- If you are using the Personal identifiers, you will have to enter your personal information which includes your first name, full last name, date of birth, and your Social Security number.
- Click on “Continue”.
- On the next page, follow the prompt and access FAFSA form.
To Login to your Child’s FAFSA form as a Parent
Your parent can also assist you to complete your FAFSA especially when you aren’t together. This is something called the Save Key. The Save Key is a short, temporary password you can give someone when it is time for them to work on your FAFSA.
- Go to www.studentaid.gov/fafsa-app/ROLES in the web browser of your device.
- On the next page, three layers will appear; click on “I am a parent filling out a FAFSA form for a student”.
- On this page, you will be asked to enter the student’s personal identifiers.
- Next, enter the student’s first name, student’s full last name, student’s date of birth, and student’s Social Security number.
- Click on “Continue”.
- On the next page, your parent will be prompted to create a Save Key and then make a note of it.
- When your parent is done with their part, they can now save the FAFSA and close out of it.
- Then, your parent will give you the Save Key. Then you can use the Save key to get into the partially completed FAFSA and do your own part as a student. Parents can also use the “the student’s identifiers” on the right side of the “login” screen and do not have to use your FSA ID.
- When everyone (both you and your parents) are done with their own parts of the FAFSA, click “Submit My FAFSA now” at the bottom of the “Signature Status” page. You are not done until you see the “Confirmation” page, which you should read and save for your records.
